The band Bethel Music is comprised of four members – Jenn Johnson, Brian Johnson, Paul McClure, and Chris Tomlin. They are best known for their worship songs, including “How Great Is Our God”, “I Need Your Glory”, “Worthy Of Praise”, “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go”, and many others. Their music is very popular among Christians.
Brian Johnson is a singer/songwriter whose career began in the late 1970s. He recorded his debut album in 1980, and he went on to release several albums throughout the 80s and 90s. His most successful album was 1989’s “Love Letters”. In 2004, he won a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Album for his album “In Christ Alone.”
Jenn Johnson is a songwriter and producer who co-founded Bethel Music in 2009. She wrote her first song at age 11, and she graduated from high school with a degree in vocal performance. Her first solo album was released in 2011 called “Let There Be Peace,” and it debuted at number one on Billboard magazine’s Top Heatseekers chart.
Paul McClure is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, keyboard, bass, drums, and percussion. He has been playing since he was 13 years old, and he played
Bethel Music was founded in 2004 by founder John Mark McMillan, who had been involved with Bethel Church since he was 15 years old. He began recording songs in his basement in 2003, and by 2005, he had recorded enough material to release a self-titled album. In 2006, the Bethel Music team released three albums, including a Christmas EP titled “Christmas Is Here,” which topped Billboard magazine’s Top Christian Albums Chart.
In 2007, Bethel Music released their third studio album, titled “The Altar & The Door.” By 2008, the band had signed with Sparrow Records, releasing their fourth album, “I Am Not Ashamed.” This album reached number one on the iTunes Store and Amazon’s Christian chart, and it became the fastest selling independent Christian album ever.
In 2010, Bethel Music released a live DVD/CD set called “Live At Bethel Church,” which contained footage from the band’s concert at Bethel Church in Redondo Beach, CA. They followed up with another live CD/DVD set, titled “Greater Than Before,” in 2011.
In 2012, Bethel Music released “How Great Is Our God,” the lead single off their fifth studio album. The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 charts, and it won Best Contemporary Worship Album at the 39th GMA Dove Awards. Their sixth studio album, “Alive In Sound,” was released in 2013, peaking at number six on the Billboard 200 charts.
In early 2015, Bethel Music began work on a seventh studio album, which was slated to be released in late 2016. On August 5, 2015, Bethel Music announced via Twitter that the album would be released in November. That same day, the band released the album’s title track, “Be Still And Know.”
On September 23, 2015, Bethel released “Love Came Down”, the second promotional single off the upcoming album. A few days later, the band released the full album, titled “Beautiful Noise”.
In February 2017, Bethel Music released the single “This Is Love”, taken from their eighth studio album, “Noise Floor”. The album was released on April 7, 2017.
In July 2018, Bethel Music released two singles from their ninth studio album, “We Are One” and “Heavenly Father”.
On June 25, 2019, Bethel Music released its tenth studio album, “Hymns”.
