Chris Brown recently performed his song “Jump,” featuring vocals from singer/songwriter Jonsal Barrientos, during a concert in Mexico City. The performance was captured on video and uploaded to YouTube. In it, Brown sings about how he wants to jump into something bigger, like God. He says he wants to jump up high enough where he can see heaven. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Brown sing about jumping. Back in 2016, he sang about wanting to jump off stage while performing onstage during his tour stop in London.
Brown’s latest single, titled “Jump,” is taken from his upcoming album, Indigo Prophecy.
Jenna Barrientes is a former contestant on America’s Next Top Model Cycle 19, where she placed second overall. She went on to become a model and actress. She starred in the reality show MTV’s Made in Jersey and played the role of Jennifer Lopez’s daughter in the film Second Act.
Barrientes married her longtime love, Christopher Brown, in July 2017. They welcomed their son, Jonsal Barriente Jr., in April 2018.
History
Elevation Worship began in July 2007 at Elevation Church, a nondenominational church in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group consisted of three members: Jonny Craig (lead vocals), Matt Hammitt (guitar/keyboards), and Chris Rohman (bass). They performed regularly during worship services, and were signed to Essential Records in 2009. In 2010, the band released their self-titled EP, which reached No. 1 on iTunes’ Christian music charts and peaked at No. 24 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. On May 3, 2011, the band released their full-length debut album, titled. The album debuted at No. 1 on both the Top Contemporary Christian Albums and Independent Albums charts, and it also topped the iTunes’ Christian Music Charts.
The band’s second album,was released on February 19, 2012. It debuted at No. 1 in both the US and Canada, and at No. 2 in Australia. It also reached No. 1 on the iTunes’ Christian Music Chart, and it became their most successful release thus far. The album sold over 30,000 copies in its first week, and it went platinum within five weeks. On June 27, 2012, the band announced thathad been nominated for a Dove Award for Rock Recorded Song of the Year at the 38th GMA Dove Awards. The following day, the band won the award.On April 8, 2013, the band released their third album, entitled. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling over 70,000 units in its first week. It also debuted at number one on both the Canadian Albums Chart and the UK Albums Chart, where it remained for six consecutive weeks. The album received a nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.In 2014, the band released their fourth album,. The album debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200, becoming their lowest peaking album to date. However, it still managed to sell over 35,000 copies in its opening week, making it the best-selling album of the week. It also debuted atop the Billboard Christian Albums chart, and it spent eight straight weeks at number one. The album was certified gold by RIAA on August 11, 2016.On November 16, 2018, the band released their fifth album, entitled. This album marked the band’s return to recording independently, after releasing their previous four albums via Essential Records.
Members
Chris Brown, Jonsal Barrientos, Jenna Barrientes, Tiffany Hudson, Davide Mutendi, and past members are no longer part of R&B group B2K. They left the band earlier this month following allegations of domestic violence against Brown. The remaining four members — Kevin Durant, Ray Allen, DeAndre Jordan, and Dwight Howard — announced their decision to remain together.
The group had been working on music since 2010, and released their debut album, Rebirth, in 2011. Their second album, All or Nothing, came out in 2013. In 2016, the group signed a joint deal with Epic Records.
In 2017, Brown pleaded guilty to assaulting Rihanna during a 2009 fight. He received five years probation and one year of house arrest. A judge later suspended his sentence because he completed anger management classes and paid $250,000 in restitution.
Brown was arrested again in 2018 for allegedly beating up his girlfriend, 21-year-old model/actress Nia Guzman. She filed a police report claiming she was punched in the face and choked. Police found her bloodied shirt and phone in the street. He was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery.
Barrientos was arrested in February 2018 after cops responded to reports of shots fired near the singer’s home. When officers arrived, they saw him walking down the driveway holding what appeared to be a gun. He was taken into custody and charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
Jenna Barrientes was arrested in May 2018 after being accused of punching a man in the face outside a nightclub in West Hollywood. She was booked for felony vandalism and misdemeanor battery.
Hudson was arrested in July 2018 after allegedly throwing a punch at a woman while driving in Los Angeles. She was charged with felony hit and run.
