The British boy band One Direction announced it will embark on its “On the Road Again Tour,” beginning in Glasgow, Scotland on Oct. 3, 2015. The tour will span 10 dates across North America including stops in Toronto, Montreal, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York City, Boston and Washington D.C.
The group will perform songs from each of its albums, including “Up All Night,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Best Song Ever,” “Story Of My Life,” “Live While We’re Young,” “Take Me Home,” “Night Changes” and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go.”
The boys are no strangers to playing live. They have performed multiple times throughout the United States, Canada and England since 2011. In addition to their headlining tours, the band has shared stages with artists such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Coldplay, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Robbie Williams, Ed Sheeran and many others.
One Direction formed in 2010 when Simon Cowell invited four young men—Zayn Malik, Liam Payne,Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles—to audition for the seventh series of his talent show The X Factor. He chose them over thousands of others because he felt they could become a successful group.
The group went on to win the competition in 2011 with their single “What Makes You Beautiful”. Their debut album Up All Night topped the UK Album Chart, selling over one million copies worldwide.
In 2012, the group released their second studio album Take Me Home and followed it up in 2013 with Midnight Memories. Both albums debuted atop the charts in the United Kingdom. On December 9, 2013, the group announced that they would split following the release of their fourth studio album Four.
On November 13, 2016, the group reunited for a performance at the American Music Awards where they performed “Drag Me Down”. The reunion received positive reviews from critics.
It is unclear how long the content will remain available through Disney+
