Now you suckWe wanna talk about sex but we’re not allowedWell, we may not like it but you better learn how‘Cause it’s your turn nowBoy, you’re wasting your tongue with lame excuses and liesNow, what’s on your nasty old mind?
So how should I begin this?I guess it started when you were with himAnd how he never even took you out to danceBut did he fuck with any rhythm? But now he’s playing with your headBut did he ever make you cum?Did he ever make you cry?Do the wires in your mind get sewn togetherRubbed and severed by the heatYou don’t know how long I could stare into your pictureAnd wish that it was meI guess it’s different ’cause you love himBut I’ve got an interactiveSick and twisted imaginationAnd that’s gotta count for something
We wanna talk about sex but we’re not allowedWell, you may not like it but you’d better learn how‘Cause it’s your turn nowYou’re wasting your tongue with lame excuses and liesGet your face between my thighs
I dreamt I was standing in your doorstepLicking sweat off of your foreheadWith your finger in my mouthAnd the sound when leather jackets hit the groundYou should hear when you’re not aroundWhen it’s just us horny poetsWho can’t wait to write it downSwear we were only being being honestDo you like these little sonnets?‘Cause I wrote them just for youHow quickly they turn sourSo be careful who you screwAnd never callAnd I’m starting to suspectYou don’t intend to do anything you say at all
We wanna talk about sex but we’re not allowedWell, we may not like it but you’d better learn how‘Cause it’s your turn nowYou’re wasting your tongue with lame excuses and lies
All by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mindAll by yourself, sittin’ aloneI hope we’re still friends, yeah, I hope you don’t mind

Musical style and songwriting

The band name itself is derived from the lead singer’s nickname, “TV Girl”, which she used to refer to herself in her early teens. She later adopted it as her stage name and began writing music under it. Her musical influences include artists such as Kate Bush, Björk, David Bowie, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Nick Cave, Morrissey, Rufus Wainwright, and The Cure. In addition to being influenced by these acts, she is also inspired by modern dance music, particularly house music and techno.

The duo’s sound is often described as indie pop, alternative pop, dream pop, shoegaze, post-punk, electroclash, and gothic rock. However, they reject categorization entirely, claiming that their music is simply just “music”.
