In February 1995, Canadian pop star Justin Bieber performed his single “One Time” live on MuchMusic. He went on to release five studio albums, including the Grammy Award winning album My World 2.0. His most recent album, Purpose, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard 200 chart. In addition to releasing music, he has starred in several movies, including Never Say Never, Never Been Kissed, Never Say Never Again, and Believe Me.

Career
– Bieber’s career began in 2008, when he uploaded three songs to YouTube under the name “Future.” He performed at local talent shows, including Toronto’s Just For Laughs Festival, where he met Braun.
– In 2009, Braun signed Bieber to his SB Projects record label and took over management duties.
– Braun’s success in music led him to become a co-founder of the digital media company Live Nation Entertainment.
– Braun helped launch the careers of artists such as Ariana Grande, Meek Mill, Nicki Minaj, and Future.
2010–2011: My World 2.0, Never Say Never, and Under the Mistletoe
In 2010, Justin Bieber debuted his second studio album, My World 2.0. It was released on November 24, 2010 in Canada and December 21, 2010 in the United States. The album included singles such as “Baby,” “One Time,” “Never Let You Go,” “Somebody to Love,” “All Around the World,” “The Feeling Again,” “Mistletoe” and “Up!”
On February 14, 2011, he performed during halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. His performance consisted of him singing “Baby” while playing guitar. This marked the first time a performer had ever played live instruments during a halftime show.
On April 7, 2011, Justin Bieber released his third studio album, Never Say Never. It was released on May 5, 2011 in North America and June 8, 2011 in Australia. The album includes singles like “Beauty and a Beat” featuring Ludacris, “Boyfriend” featuring Lil Wayne and Tyga, “Favorite Girl” featuring Usher and “Where Are Ü Now”. Also included are covers of songs such as “I’ll Be Your Man” by The Police, “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt, “Don’t Speak” by Michael Jackson and “Ain’t Nobody” by Alicia Keys. The album sold over 4 million copies worldwide within its first week of release.
On August 16, 2011, Bieber announced via Twitter that he had signed a record deal with Island Records, thus ending his contract with Sony Music Entertainment.
On September 9, 2011, Bieber performed at the MTV Video Music Awards Japan. During the performance, he sang “Baby” and “U Smile”.
On October 18, 2011, Bieber performed “Baby” along with other artists including Usher, Maroon 5, Pussycat Dolls, and Lady Gaga at the American Music Awards.
On November 10, 2011, Bieber performed the national anthem prior to Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks.
2012–2014: Believe, Journals, and other appearances
In late 2011, Justin Bieber began recording his third solo studio album, titled Believe. The following week, Bieber performed a cover of’s “Baby,” which made it onto the Hot 100 chart. On June 19, 2012, Believe was released by Island Records.
The album marked a musical departure fro the teen pop sound of Biebs’ previous releases, and incorporated a wider array of electronic music styles such as dance-pop and R & B.
On August 21, 2013, Bieber announced he had signed a record deal with Universal Music Group. He later revealed that the label had offered him $3 million per song, while he turned down the offer.
Believe debuted atop the US Billboard 200 albums chart, selling over 566,000 copies in its first week, becoming Bieber’s best opening sales week ever. The album remained at number one for three consecutive weeks, and sold over 2.7 million copies in the United States during its first month of availability.
Believe became Bieber’s second album to debut at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart, making him the youngest artist to do so since Drake did so in 2009. It also reached number one on the UK Albums Chart, where Bieber holds the record for the fastest selling male album in British history.
Beliebers responded positively to the album, with many praising the production and lyrics. However, critics noted that the songs lacked substance and were too similar to each other.
Believe earned Bieber five Grammy Award nominations, including Record Of The Year, Best Pop Vocal Performance – Male, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, and Best Short Form Video. At the 60th Annual Grammy Awards held on February 10, 2014, Bieber won both awards for Best Pop Vocal Performance – Male and Best Rap/Song Collaboration for “What Do You Mean?”
