Introduction
The Academy Awards are the highest accolade in Hollywood. They recognize the best films, actors, actresses and performances of the previous year. This year, the 90th annual awards ceremony takes place on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
This year, there are nine categories where the nominees can win the coveted golden statuette. These include Best Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Original Screenplay, Adapted Screenplay, Directing and Documentary Feature. In addition, the Oscars will be given out in three different acting categories: Leading Actor, Leading Actress and Supporting Actor/Actress.

What is Once Upon A Time In Hollywood about?
The story begins in 1969 Los Angeles where screenwriter/director Quentin Tarantino is struggling to meet deadlines while working on his latest script. He receives a call from producer Lawrence Bender asking him to star in a film called “Once Upon A Time In America”. When Tarantino arrives in New York City he learns that the project is based on Charles Bronson’s autobiography “I’m Ready”, and that it tells the true story of Bronson’s rise to fame as a boxer in 1950s Brooklyn. As Tarantino reads the book he discovers that one of the main characters is none other than himself.
Tarantino returns home to L.A. to find out that the studio wants to change the project into a comedy starring Jack Lemmon and Steve McQueen. After some initial resistance, Tarantino agrees to do it under certain conditions; he must write, produce, direct, and star in the film. The rest of the cast includes Al Pacino, Robert Forster, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, James Marsden, Lena Olin, Timothy Hutton, Amanda Plummer, Clifton Collins Jr., Bruce Dern, Chris Penn, Nick Nolte, Winona Ryder, and many others.
At the beginning of filming, director Roger Donaldson leaves the production over creative differences. Tarantino hires Eli Bush to replace him. During the shoot, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie, Damian Lewis, and Emile Hirsch arrive to work on the set. At the end of shooting, Pitt and DiCaprio are offered roles in Tarantino’s next film “Inglourious Basterds” and decide to join the cast.
After wrapping principal photography, Tarantino assembles a crew consisting of cinematographer Christopher Doyle, editor Sally Menke, costume designer Jacqueline Durran, production designer Adam Stockhausen, and composer Ennio Morricone to begin post-production.

Christoph Waltz is one of the most celebrated actors working today. From Quentin Tarantino’s cult classic Inglourious Bastersd to Steven Spielberg’s War Horse, Waltz has been cast in some of the biggest films of recent times. But it wasn’t always like this. Before he became the iconic character known as “The Jew Hunter,” Waltz played a different sort of character – a romantic lead.
In fact, before he landed his Oscar-nominated performance in Tarantino’s Inglourious Bastards, Waltz had already won an Academy Award for playing the titular character in Michael Haneke’s Amour. And while his career took off in Germany, France and Italy, he never forgot where he came from.
Waltz in Django Unchained
Waltz received a standing ovation from the audience when he took home the Best Supporting Actor trophy for his role as Dr. King Schultz in Quentin Tarantino’s 2012 film Django Unchained. He won the prize against fellow nominees Tom Hanks, Tommy Lee Jones, and Robert De Niro. Waltz’s career journey
Christoph Waltz is one of the most sought-after actors in Hollywood today. He began his career as a child actor, starring in several German TV movies and commercials. In 1987 he moved to London where he studied drama at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. After graduation he quickly became known for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulp Fiction. Waltz later played Dr. Hans Landa in the 2012 Bond movie Skyfall. As well as being nominated for an Oscar and Golden Globe Award, he won the BAFTA Rising Star award in 2013.
The Austrian actor was born in Munich, Germany in 1967. His father, Johannes, was a successful art director and set designer, while his mother, Elisabeth, was a costume designer. His paternal grandparents were both stage directors, while his maternal grandmother was a renowned actress. Waltz’s great-grandfather was also an actor, while his grandfather was a musician.
As a young boy, Waltz performed in many plays with his parents. While still a teenager, he attended the Max Reinhardt Seminary in Vienna, Austria. There, he learned how to act and dance. At the age of 15, he moved to London to study drama at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. During his studies, he acted in numerous productions, including Hamlet, Macbeth and King Lear. In 1990, he graduated with honors.
After graduating, Waltz returned home to Munich where he joined the Bavarian National Theatre Company.
